Hemp Seed Oil
Cannabis sativa seed oil
“Scalp lipid support, lightweight conditioning, moisture balance, porosity care”

How It Works
The mechanism.
Hemp seed oil has one of the closest fatty-acid profiles to the scalp's own sebum, which makes it remarkably easy for hair and scalp to accept. Its high linoleic-acid content helps replenish the scalp's natural lipid barrier, easing dryness and supporting a comfortable, well-balanced scalp, while its light molecular weight lets it condition the cortex of thirsty, high-porosity Type 4 hair.
Origins & Tradition
Where it comes from.
Hemp cultivation is ancient across East Africa. Ethiopian tradition documents hemp seed oil in scalp care as far back as the 7th century, and its use in Rastafari hair rituals is a continuation of much older Amhara practices. The plant's legal suppression in the 20th century interrupted these traditions, but hemp seed oil (CBD-free, non-psychoactive) is now recognised by dermatologists as one of the most under-utilised ingredients in scalp health.

The Research
What the science says.
Hemp seed oil is documented in East African scalp care for well over a thousand years and is recognised today for its skin-hydrating, barrier-supporting fatty acids - borne out in studies showing improved skin hydration and reduced moisture loss with regular use.
